Cherokee Lake is set at the foothills of the Clinch Mountain of East Tennessee. It consists of 30,000 acres of water surface and 463 miles of
shoreline. Cherokee Lake is one of the largest lakes in the state of Tennessee. There is no closed fishing season. An aeration system has been installed at Cherokee Dam to improve the health of the fish population
and increase the number of fish species. Fisherman are provided with hefty catches of Largemouth, Smallmouth, Crappie, White Bass, Stripers, Catfish, Rockfish and Bream. The water is clear, clean and appears to have
a bluish tint. There are many beautiful homes on Cherokee Lake with more than 2.5 million recreational visits each year. There are several access areas, boat docks, campgrounds and parks.
