Adventure & Extreme Thrills

Fly Like The Wind
First off is our local Vertical Wind Tunnel.
Flyaway is a great experience for anyone of nearly any age. You may be somewhat familiar with the concept. Flyaway is located on the Parkway at Traffic Light #5 and offers a discounted flight coupon on their website, as well as the ability to purchase gift certificates. Please read and get familiar with the guidelines as anyone of any "size" cannot fly.

Feeling the Need for Speed?
Visit Smoky Mountain Speedpark, our local Extreme Thrills Park. You can find discount coupons on their website also to print and redeem. This Speedpark is chock full of action packed rides. One of the only Bungee Jumps in town (Pigeon Forge only allows jumps from 70 ft), it has 2 SUPER fast go kart tracks (one slick track) as well as a Bull Ride, Ejection Seat Launch, and a SkyScraper, a 150 ft tall whirling twirling arm that takes you the rider in a full 360 degree loop at speeds of 60+ mph while rotating within your seat. Its quite a rush!!!

Helicopter Tours
Also find that there are plenty of Helicopter Rides available, closer to the I-40 exit 407 to the Smokies. Several years ago, helicopter landing areas were moved at a minimum of 9.75 miles from the National Park for noise pollution reasons.

Jump From A Perfectly Good Airplane?
Our local Dropzone welcomes new students and one time jumpers all the time!

Making Aviation History
Recently we added the Aviation Museum, which is located near the Sevier County Airport. Although it's not "high speed" it is interesting for those of us who love planes and flight.

White Water Rafting
If you like to get wet, we offer a variety of White Water Rafting trips, which are not necessarily "high speed" but are high fun. The summer Olympics was held here on one of our close rivers, so it's definitely a challenge worthy of some thrill seekers.

Caving & Climbing
The Smokies offer a wide variety of cliffs, and caves, if you like to climb, repel, or like to spelunk.

ATV Rides
Another mountain favorite for high adrenaline is ATV rides (4 wheelers) through parts of the park. There are a couple of places here who offer guided and semi-guided rides through the mountains.

Roller Coaster Crazy
If you like Roller Coasters, well we have a pretty good ones here at Dollywood. Dollywood is a theme park similar to Six Flags, only with Dolly Parton as the Grand Master and the whole park is themed around the historical treasures of the Smoky Mountains. The coaster named "The Tennessee Tornado" is a 128-foot drop through a mountain at 70 MPH with 4.0 G's through 3 loops. It's intense and a MUST DO if your traveling to Dollywood.

Swimming with the fishes!
Sometimes at the Tennessee Aquarium (in Chattanooga) you can dive, and feed certain fish with advanced reservations and planning, etc. They have these extremely friendly Beluga Sturgeons there which are very fun to play with, in a petting tank.
